Star of ‘The Lost Boys’ and other ’80s teen classics
Canadian actor and former teen idol Corey Haim died of a suspected overdose on 10 March, 2010, aged 38.
He was best known for starring in comedy-horror film The Lost Boys (1987) and other fondly remembered movies of the 1980s.
He appeared in several films alongside fellow teen star Corey Feldman and they had made two series of a reality TV show The Two Coreys in 2007 and 2008.
Born in Toronto on 23 December, 1971, he was originally enrolled in acting classes by his mother to overcome his shyness.
His first break came in the early 1980s when he landed a regular role in Canadian TV comedy series The Edison Twins on Canadian television.
He made his feature film debut in gritty drama Firstborn (1984) alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey Jr. He also starred in 1985’s Silver Bullet, a werewolf thriller based on a Stephen King novella.
